«Proud at PAOK»
Shortly before the 2nd round of the Super League kicks off with the encounter at Xanthi, Igor Tudor spoke to Novasports TV about 2015, his aims for 2016, the rumours about Maccabi Tel-Aviv and the current situation of the team.
On Christmas break:
«I spent these days with my family in Split. It was a much-needed rest to charge our batteries for our engagements with PAOK in 2016».
On what 2015 leaves behind:
«It could be labeled as a great year. We started to play really early in the season, we have been almost six months in action. We had some good and some bad spells. I like to focus on the positive stuff. Negative aspects however are teaching us lessons. We must learn from these lessons, confirm our good points and work to improve on our weaknesses through daily work and by improving the team’s quality».
On his objectives for 2016:
«I wish for good health. Each person defines their own means of happiness. On a professional level, I want this year to include a trophy for PAOK. Our most feasible objective is the Greek Cup and I will do everything in my power to win it».
On press clippings in Israel concerning him and Maccabi Tel-Aviv:
«I am proud to be PAOK head coach. I am proud to be here and I hope to stay for several years to come».
On the condition of his troops:
«We are better than before the break, as we have welcomed back players who were injured. Some will return soon to action, as Garry Rodrigues who is expected to be training normally by next week. I believe we are very well prepared for the Xanthi game. I am very curious to see how my players will implement on the pitch everything that we have been working on these past days».
On the encounter against Xanthi:
«They are a tough, well organized team with a good coach. Their football style is easily detectable, they play well. It will be a tough game and we hope to win».
