«We must be careful in order to win»
He is ready to return to action, after recovering from his injury. Miguel Vítor spoke to Novasports TV ahead of the first encounter of 2016 against Xanthi.
On Christmas break:
«It was a much-needed break for us. It was good we got to rest for 5-6 days, we were able to travel home and see our families. We are in a middle of a very tough season, have already played for almost six months and we need to rest physically and mentally«.
On his injury and how he feels now:
«Sitting on the sidelines was frustrating. But now I am fine, it’s been a week since I returned to normal training and I believe that I am ready to play«.
On what 2015 left behind and on the new year:
«I would divide 2015 in two. The first part was disappointing, as we finished last in the play-offs. The second part had some good games in the UEFA Europa League and qualified in the Greek Cup. We should have gotten more points in the league and we need to improve our position. But we had some good moments and we can go after our objectives in 2016, such as the Greek Cup final and topping the play-offs, in order to go after our chances for a UEFA Champions League participation«.
On the encounter against Xanthi:
«It’s a tough side. In the two years I’ve been at PAOK, we’ve had some hard-fought matches there. They have quick players upfront and we need to be very careful in order to win«.
