AEL Kalloni – PAOK: Mixed zone
Charisis and Mak spoke on behalf of their PAOK teammates in the mixed zone of Mytilini Municipal Stadium, right after the final whistle of the encounter against AEL Kalloni, for the Greek Cup last 16 stage. Here is what the two players said:
Róbert Mak, who scored a valuable goal for the “Double-Headed Eagle”, was disappointed with the team’s performance. He also spoke about transfer rumours regarding himself:
«It’s an important goal, but I am disappointed with how we played. If we want to remain alive in this competition, we must record victories. Today we couldn’t. Thankfully we fought until the end and managed to score. We must improve, we must try harder. I am not interested in rumours. I am a player of PAOK and my only concern is Sunday’s game«.
Charis Charisis, who returned from his injury, featured in the starting line-up and was excellent, underlined the fact that PAOK can achieve qualification in the second leg of Toumba:
«This injury was definitely a set-back and I worked hard to recover. Today we didn’t get the desired result. We were unlucky, Kalloni gave their 100%. In football, the best team doesn’t always get to win. We didn’t create as many chances to score as we could. It’s a bad result, but now we focus on Toumba’s second leg. We want to win and I believe we will succeed with our fans on our side«.
