“We didn’t play our game”

PAOK’s coach was very disappointed after the draw against SKODA Xanthi at Pigadia for matchday 16 of the Super League. Here is what Igor Tudor said in his post-match press conference.

20.01.2016

«Getting equalized in the 90th minute always leaves a bitter taste. We didn’t play our football. I didn’t like anything about our first half. Our rivals were stronger in the duels. Compared with our previous matches, our opponents were better in closed spaces and our midfielders didn’t play fast, as dictated in such conditions. They lost many balls in midfield and Xanthi broke into counterattack numerous times, but we were saved by Olsen«.

On the changed line-up:

«I wanted to rest some players. Sabo has played all his life on the flank, while Vítor needed the rest after many back-to-back matches«.

On the rival:

«It’s the best I’ve seen Xanthi play. I hope they will be as strong in other games as well.«.

On Olsen’s performance:

«I don’t know what will happen, but today he was good«.

On the referee:

«Today Xanthi were tougher than us, but the card tally would suggest that PAOK were doing all the kicking. Unbelievable referee«.

On Charisis and Cimirot:

«Perhaps this game will help them figure out what went wrong and improve«.
