«I saw interesting things in the second half»

Here is what Igor Tudor said in his press conference after the encounter against AEK Athens in OAKA.

24.01.2016

On the first half:

«Perhaps it was a lesson for our young side. However we reacted well in the second half«.

On Vellidis’s participation in the starting line-up:

«We acquired Vellidis as our starting goalkeeper and that’s why he was in the initial line-up. We acquired him to play and we wouldn’t leave him on the bench because of a bad or good match«.

On Berbatov’s performance:

«He was good, didn’t do badly in the game. I can’t speak about his dismissal as I didn’t see what happened. I don’t know why he reacted like this, I don’t know the details«.

On Vítor’s injury:

«He compained of pain in the sciatic nerve. He will undergo medical test and we will access his condition«.

On transfers:

«I don’t know anything«.

On changing tactics in the second half:

«I wanted to have an extra player in midfield, that is why I introduced Berbatov. We wanted to be more attack-minded, therefore I introduced a forward«.

On the team’s performance:

«In the second half, PAOK dominated the encounter, as AEK Athens had done in the first half. Had we Berbatov in the last stretch, we would count on an additional player in set pieces and perhaps could have equalized«.

On set pieces that end up hurting PAOK:

«Our team is not tall. Our full-backs are short, the same goes for our centre-backs who are shorter than the average central defenders. Our wingers Garry and Mak, as well as Charisis and Cirimot in the midfield also lack height. We suffer in that area. Perhaps they didn’t drink enough milk when they were little«.

On what he would keep from Sunday’s performance:

«I saw interesting things in the second half, but nothing worth-while in the first. I am looking forward to the two encounters against AEK Athens in the play-offs«.
