«Victory and attractive football»
Miguel Vítor spoke to Novasports TV about the encounter against Atromitos at Toumba. Here is what the Portuguese defender said in detail.
On his condition after recovering from injury:
«I trained normally and I will definitely be ready for the game against Atromitos. I have a minor injury in the same spot but nothing serious. I will be fine«.
On his conclusions after the matches against AEK Athens and Panionios:
«We knew beforehand that the AEK game would be tough. They were better in the first half and we were better in the second. I believe we didn’t deserve to lose as we had better chances to score. The encounter against Panionios was totally different, as it was the first leg of a knock-out tie. I believe we got a positive result. We wanted to win but it was not to be. We still have the upper hand though ahead of the qualification game in Toumba«.
On the fact that PAOK find it hard to get good results away from home:
«That’s a fact in both seasons I’ve been here. I don’t know what’s to blame. Maybe it’s a mental thing, but I don’t have a definite explanation for it. We have spoken about it many times in the locker rooms. Matches are always easier in our home ground with our fans helping us. However we must show strength of character and be aggressive away from Toumba as well. I believe we will be able to remedy that until the end of the season«.
On whether he believes that the team can improve shortly:
«Of course I believe it. Maybe we were not that good in our last two games, but we had a decent spell before that and played attractive football. We can return to such displays. It’s difficult to achieve with matches every three days. But it’s feasible and hopefully we will see that on Saturday, with a comfortable victory and attractive football for our fans to enjoy«.
On Atromitos:
«Their place in the standings doesn’t reflect their quality roster. They don’t get the results they desire, but we know they have good players and the match will be far from easy. We want to play good football and win of course«.
