«Win at home»
Igor Tudor spoke to Novasports TV ahead of the encounter against Iraklis, to be held on Sunday at Toumba Stadum. Here is what the Croatian head coach of PAOK said:
On the Greek Cup match:
«I am satisfied we made it to the semi-finals. We all know that the Greek Cup is a tricky competition and favourites don’t always reach the semis or the final, therefore we are happy to advance. We struggled, but went through with two draws and now wait to find out our opponents in the next stage«.
On his preference for an opponent:
«No, we’ll see what the draw brings«.
On what is the main objective now for team, as they face an injury spree:
«We have a tough match coming up, at a complicated time for us. Iraklis are a good team. We have some injury worries, with Klaus being the last casualty, while Mak is suspended and we need to check out Berbatov’s condition. We have to be well prepared, because we play an important match on Sunday«.
On the focus at trainings:
«It’s tough to work on details when not all players are available, especially with back-to-back games. After the encounter against Iraklis, we will have the luxury to work more, as we will have a schedule of one match per week. It will be easier with several players returning to action. PAOK will be better after we manage to work on some things.«.
On Iraklis:
«I watched Iraklis’s last couple of games and I must admit that their football is interesting. I remember our first match against them –impossible situation. Berbatov missed his spot kick and then an error let to a stoppage time equalizer. Very tough situation to deal with. We now play at home and want to win. We will be prepared for it«.
On what will decide the game and what he will ask his players to do:
«Every aspect of this match is important, just three days after our previous match. We must think hard, speak to our medical staff and prepare a clever game«.
