«We focus on the next game»
With all that happened on Wednesday still on their minds, PAOK players are preparing for the encounter against Panthrakikos. Giannis Mystakidis shared his thoughts about the last and the upcoming match of the “Double-Headed Eagle” on Novasports TV.
On what happened on Wednesday in Toumba:
«When I think about this game, I feel bitterness and sadness. Why is this happening? We are not treated as professionals. They don’t respect us or the fans. We couldn’t do our job. They didn’t let us. Most of the times we put up with it and try not to get into refereeing matters. But on Wednesday the situation exceeded all limits. Personally, I was put off game. I don’t know why all this happens«.
On the decision not to participate in the second leg:
«Such situations should remain off the pitch. It’s not my place to comment on administrative decisions. We are professionals, we work hard and focus on the next game. Now we concentrate on upcoming encounters. We want to play in the play-offs and get second place in the league«.
On Mak’s absence due to suspension:
«Mak has helped us a lot. But the team has a big roster and can fill the gaps. All players want to help and I believe we can cover for his absence«.
On the rest of the season:
«In my opinion, if we bring on the pitch what we have been working on, we have nothing to fear. I hope we won’t get to live again situation like last Wednesday’s. We need to focus exclusively on football and our next game«.
On whether the team is ready for the Panthrakikos game:
«There is hardly any time to rest before our next game. That is good, because we can quickly reverse the mood and make our fans happy«.
On Panthrakikos:
«They have a good side, they have proved it. Perhaps they don’t deserve to be last in the standings and they will fight to win. We are working hard and we will be aiming for the three-pointer«.
