MVP Glykos’s reaction
Panagiotis Glykos returned to action after four months on the sidelines and put on an excellent performance that earned him the MVP award at Chania.
On his award:
«I want to thank all of you for this award. This match was special for me, because I managed to play after four months«.
On the Chania encounter:
«We came here to win, as we wanted to end the regular season on a positive note. I believe that we read our opponent’s game correctly and created chances to score. I believe that the team who would score first would have won. But no goals were scored and we shared the points«.
On the season so far:
«It has been a tough season for sure, but we can be optimistic now. There are some crucial matches ahead and we need to give it everything we have got in order to secure a good spot in the European Cups of the next season and remain competitive«.
On his return to action:
«I have been through a similar tough spell before with a lengthy injury. This was a muscular injury and it shouldn’t take so long to recover. But there were people by my side who helped me bounce back. Sometimes a muscular injury can prove more complicated than a post-surgery period. You need to give it time to recover. I felt that I was ready to return several times, but then pain would kick in and I had to take more time, as I didn’t want any risks of relapse«.
On his display against Platanias:
«It’s clearly a matter of training, game approach and serenity… I always felt ready to play and that I am totally focused and able to give it 100%. I felt well today and we all managed to be solid defensively. We tried to do what our coach said«.
