«Everything for victory»
Jairo has been unlucky this season, facing back-to-back injuries. He declares himself fit and ready to give everything for his team. Here is what he told Novasports TV ahead of the play-offs’ kick-off.
On the situation in Greek football:
«This is a pity. Today (09.05) we even heard that there is a possibility for the play-offs not to go through and that is distressing for us players. Hopefully there will be a solution to all this«.
On whether he has experienced a similar situation elsewhere:
«No, there were no such problems in Slovakia. Everything was very organized there and I expected the same in Greece. I knew that there were problems in the past, but I never expected to encounter such situations. I hope for a swift solution and for us to return to normalcy«.
On time spent on the sidelines and his readiness level:
«I got injured in December, got back to action and, four matches later, I suffered a different injury, in the groin. Now I feel well, I am 100% ready and hopefully everything will go well.«.
On the team’s condition:
«I believe we will be ready. All players are healthy now, we have prepared well and we need to prove that«.
On what people should expect from PAOK:
«They should expect a team fighting for right now, for every game. A well-prepared team who are ambitious to do well«.
On the encounter against AEK Athens:
«It would have been better, if we had our fans on our side. Playing in packed Toumba is like having an extra player on the pitch. Their support is very important to us. We will try to make up for the absence of the crowd and make them happy even if they are not there. It will be a tough match against AEK Athens. Let’s not forget that it’s been a month since our last official match. AEK did play two Greek Cup semi-finals and it’s only normal they have more competitive rhythm than us. We need to be prepared and do our best to win a very tough match«.
