PAOK in the play-offs: Facts and Figures

#8: Consecutive participations of PAOK in the play-offs. They were only absent in the first season that the procedure was implemented, in 2008. No other team have so many participations (Panathinaikos have 7)
#13: Points earned by PAOK in the 2010 play-offs, when they won top spot and got a place for the UEFA Champions League qualifiers. They got a total of 16 points (plus 3 points as bonus from regular season), 7 more than second-placed AEK Athens.
#9: Goals scored by Dimitris Salpingidis for PAOK in the play-offs. The international striker is the team’s top scorer in their play-off history. He scored three goals in 2011 and two goals in each of the following three seasons.
#26: Appearances of Stefanos Athanasiadis in the play-offs. He is participating in his 7th play-off procedure (was on loan to Panserraikos in 2009). The Greek international forward has scored only three goals and is eager to improve his tally.
#2: Points earned by the “Double-Headed Eagle” last season in the play-offs, when they finished in last place of the standings, therefore having to start their European adventure in mid-July, in the 2nd qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. It was by far the worst performance of PAOK in the play-offs.
#3: Goals scored in the play-offs by current coach of PAOK Vladan Ivić. He netted the team’s only goal in their 3-1 defeat by AEK Athens in 2009 and added two more in their successful 2010 campaign: in the 2-0 win over Aris in Toumba and the winner over Olympiacos (0-1) in Karaiskakis Stadium.
#5: Consecutive matches with no goals scored by PAOK in the play-offs. They want to put an end to that streak in the encounter against AEK Athens. Facundo Pereyra’s goal against Atromitos in the 1-1 draw of last season’s first play-off match in Peristeri is the last to-date for the “Double-Headed Eagle”.
#4: Times that PAOK have played host to AEK Athens in Toumba Stadium for the play-offs. They boast three victories (1-0 in 2010, 2-1 in 2011 and 1-0 in 2012), while the Athens outfit prevailed only once (0-1 in 2009).
