Born on 24 May 1977, Liran Liany earned his FIFA badge in 2010 and started his international career with friendly international encounters and youth teams’ matches.

For his first UEFA Europa League match, in the summer of 2011, he refereed the 2nd round encounter between Kecskeméti TE and FC Aktobe. A few months later, he was appointed to a group stage match of the same competition, with FC Salzburg prevailing 2-0 over FC Paris St.-Germain at home. In the following season, he handled matches for the 2nd and 3rd qualifying rounds of the UEFA Champions League.

Liany has crossed paths with a Greek club only once before. He officiated the UEFA Europa League group stage encounter between Asteras Tripolis and FC Schalke 04 in “Theodoros Kolokotronis” Stadium, the Germans recording a 4-0 victory. The Israeli referee also took charge of the Borussia Dortmund – FC Krasnodar match, corresponding to PAOK’s group last season.

In “Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena”, he will be accompanied by his countrymen David Elias Biton and Nissan Davidy, the assistant referees, with Menashe Masiah acting as fourth official.
