«Aiming for victory»
PAOK head coach Vladan Ivić shared his thoughts regarding the upcoming game against PAS Giannina in Toumba Stadium and spoke about transfers and back-to-back encounters on their schedule.
On the encounter against Levadiakos:
«We continued from where we left off before the break. We played well and got the three points we were aiming for. Now we are preparing for our next match«.
On dealing with back-to-back games:
«We know we have many matches ahead and we are preparing for each one of them separately. As times passes by, we will be making some changes. We have many players, we are expecting some to come –and hopefully they will come soon– so that we will complete our roster and plan ahead«.
On transfers:
«We are closing in on some players. Hopefully the deals will go through soon and they will join us. It might take ten days or less. You know how these things are –hard to schedule. As a coach, I would love to have them here even tomorrow, so that they will get adapt to the team and join trainings as soon as possible«.
On preparation for the transfers:
«We are working on that since October and we know the positions we are looking to cover. Hopefully the deals will be done soon«.
On tough weather conditions lately:
«Of course they influence our preparation. Sometimes these conditions prevent us from training as we would want to. However, from past experience, we know how to handle this situation and adjust our sessions accordingly. We even managed to work despite high winds on Friday and focus on the aspects that interest us for our upcoming match«.
On PAS Giannina:
«They are a solid team and are working well under an experienced coach who has been there for quite some time. PAS Giannina are a revelation this season. They have good players and we are in for a tough encounter. They are defending and attacking in numbers and can be quite dangerous with their long-range shooting. Their forwards are fast and very disciplined. However, our aim –as always– is to win and we will work on that«.
