«We deserved to win»
Here is what Vladan Ivić said after PAOK’s first-leg encounter against Panetolikos in Agrinio, corresponding to the Greek Cup last “16” stage.
On victory over Panetolikos:
«Our first aim today was to secure a good result. It was very tough playing on such a pitch, it was difficult to adjust especially after a week of irregular training due to the weather. But we were rarely troubled by our rivals, we deserved to win and we look ahead«.
On the 3-5-2 tactics implemented by PAOK:
«When we arrived in Agrinio and I took one look at the pitch, I made a last-minute change and decided to field a three-man defence«.
On the second leg:
«It will be an entirely different game. We didn’t come here to perform attractive football, as we do in every match, but to get a positive result under adverse conditions. We faced a good and organized team and there are still 90 minutes in this tie«.
On Kaçe who played his first match after returning from loan:
«Kaçe is a player of PAOK, he played on loan for six months and now he is back. I believe he can help us. That’s why we kept him and I intend to field him from now on«.
