Panetolikos – PAOK: Mixed zone
Giannis Mystakidis and Marin Leovac spoke to media representatives after the final whistle of the “Two-Headed Eagle’s” encounter in Agrinio for Super League matchday 18.
Giannis Mystakidis spoke about the team being compact now and finding their footing:
“My objective was to give everything I had, from the moment I stepped on the pitch, and help my team.
We must continue on this path. We have no time for celebrations. There is another game ahead of us on Wednesday. We have to leave today’s match behind us.
I know that we didn’t show weak spots. We went after the game from the start, even when reduced to ten players. We played for Klaus as well. We displayed passion, discipline and are happy for the three points earned.
We are a big team and must prove it in every match. Luck is always a factor in football, but we have found our footing, are more compact now and must keep up the good work. We have found the way to get positive results and line up victories.
There is a big roster of equal players. Everyone helps in their own way. On a personal note, I always give it all to be in the starting line-up. That is my objective and I always want to help the team.
I haven’t looked at the standings for a week now. When we win, we don’t care what our rivals do. We take it one game at a time, as there is still a whole round of fixtures ahead of us«.
Marin Leovac also spoke about the important victory recorded at the expense of Panetolikos, while also singing the praises of Panagiotis Deligiannidis:
“We created many chances to score in the first half. After Klaus’s dismissal, that became harder. It was a tough match, but we achieved our aim.
There are eight back-to-back matches. It’s a tough schedule but we have a big roster. You saw in the Greek Cup games that all our players have the necessary quality to play for PAOK. We will need to cover the void of some injured players as well.
If Deligiannidis continues like that, he has the potential to become a big name for PAOK«.
