Xanthi – PAOK: Mixed zone

Read everything that Deligiannidis, Prijović and Charisis said after the final whistle of the encounter against Xanthi, corresponding to matchday 20 of the Super League.

12.02.2017

It was a big occasion for Panagiotis Deligiannidis, who made his first start for PAOK in the Super League. Here is what he said after the final whistle:

«We didn’t get the desired result, but we must continue our efforts. That’s football.

We will try to be prepared for the Schalke game. If we play according to our potential, we have nothing to fear.

I am very happy with my league debut. I showed that I deserve more playing time, but that is up to my coach. He always urges me to give it my best. I played under him in the U20s as well and I am always trying to improve”.

Charis Charisis spoke about the wasted chances of the “Double-Headed Eagle”:

«We were good, we had attempts on goal, we didn’t get to score though. We will continue our effort. We are playing back-to-back games. There is fatigue but we have to deal with it.

The encounter against Schalke is important and we need to prepare to win it”.

Aleksandar Prijović commented on the chance created by Biseswar, where PAOK claimed they deserved a penalty, while also speaking about the upcoming Schalke match, a game he will watch from the stands as he is not eligible to play:

«We had some chances but failed to score. We need to watch the Biseswar play again on video, but I believe there is something there. In the last corner, I was held by a Xanthi defender and we fell down together, but it will also become clearer after watching it on video.

The match against Schalke will be a good one. It’s very satisfying to play in Europe. I will root for our team with all my heart, I hope they will win and qualify”.
