«We have the pace to win»

Read on paokfc.gr what Stelios Kitsiou said to Novasports TV, on the eve of the encounter against AEP Iraklis in Kaftanzoglio Stadium.

25.02.2017

On the encounter against FC Schalke 04:

«We ended our European adventure on a positive note. The first leg didn’t go as expected. The second leg with our fans’ support was a different story. Hopefully there will be more nights like that for our side. I believe that PAOK will advance even further than the ‘last 32’ stage in the future«.

On how PAOK can build on their fine display in Germany:

«The experience gathered through such games is valuable. Especially for the younger generation, like myself, Pouggouras, Pelkas… Such encounters are very helpful for all the young guys. We face players who feature in advanced leagues and that is very helpful«.

On PAOK’s remaining objectives for the season:

«Our clearest objectives are to win the Greek Cup and get top place in the play-offs, as we have lost considerable ground in the league«.

On the encounter against AEP Iraklis:

«Even though our opponents sit low in the standings, this match is a Thessaloniki derby and we want to win it«.

On whether this is a derby:

«Of course it is, as it involves two Thessaloniki sides. We are in form, back-to-back games have provided us with the necessary pace and, if we play our game on Sunday, we won’t have any problems«.
