«Deal with one game at a time»

Everything that Stelios Malezas said to Novasports TV regarding Sunday’s match against AEL Larissa in Toumba Stadium:

01.04.2017

On the upcoming game against AEL Larissa:

«It’s a game with a particular level of difficulty. In their recent matches, AEL proved they are tough to beat. I believe they are in better form than in the first game between us in Larissa. We know what we are up against and we need to do everything to take those three points«.

On the coaching change at AEL Larissa:

«That is always a factor. All players want to prove themselves to the new coach, show him that they deserve a place in the team. We need to deal with that factor as well on Sunday«.

On whether the international break was helpful:

«We will see about that. We have worked a lot during the break and we all want to show that it wasn’t time wasted«.

On the team’s successful run after breaks and if that will continue:

«Hopefully we will make it, but I don’t think that such streaks are important. What really matters is how we approach the game and what we bring on the pitch«.

On the match-deciding factors:

«We did well in 80% of our games so far, but we can’t always be successful. We have to play our game and do our best«.

On whether the last-gasp goal against Panionios has boosted the players’ morale:

«Winning that game was very important. The way we managed it is of lesser importance. That three-pointer helped us kick away stress and work better during the international break«.

On the last stretch of the season:

«Throughout the years, I have learned that we need to take it one game at a time. That is the only way to achieve something good. Right now we only focus on the encounter against AEL Larissa. We will see about the rest in due time«.
