Panathinaikos – PAOK: Mixed zone

Read on paokfc.gr what Malezas and Campos said after the final whistle of the Greek Cup semi-final first leg in Leoforos.

12.04.2017

Stelios Malezas admitted that it was a bad performance by PAOK, who need to leave this match behind and prepare for the Toumba second leg:

“Unfortunately we didn’t perform as we should. Especially that second goal we conceded, was totally unexpected, coming from a counter. We must snap out of it and focus on the home leg. Just like they scored today, we can also score. There is still hope we can reach the final”.

“We were bad today. We need to be better in order to eliminate Panathinaikos. We have proved that we can achieve that at home. We did poorly in various aspects of our game today, not just one or two”.

“We need to figure out what is wrong and fix it. I am speaking about the game ahead, because I want to leave this one behind and forget it. We didn’t play as we should. When something is off, we need to remedy it. There are many hardships from game to game and we need to act fast ahead of the second leg”.

Djalma Campos declared himself confident that PAOK will qualify:

“The whole team fought for a positive result, not just me. We found ourselves trailing early in the match. We had a clear chance to level and were also denied a penalty by the referee. We still have the second leg at home, nothing is over yet”.

“It was a tough game, different than the league’s. We will give it all to qualify in the second leg. We can do it in Toumba”.
