«Focus and discipline in order to succeed»
Here is what Vladan Ivić said, following PAOK’s victory over Platanias at Perivolia, for matchday 29 of the Super League.
On the win over Platanias:
«Today’s match was of the utmost importance. That is what we are saying since the start of the season, that we are taking one game at a time, and that is what we will do until the end«.
On his players and his efforts to keep them on their toes:
«It’s not easy. It’s my job to have them fired up on all times. They need to grasp the significance of each game and try to give it 100% on a daily basis. They all need to be disciplined. Victory, draw or loss, that is what counts in football. Sometimes we tend to forget some things, so we need focus and discipline in order to succeed«.
On Campos and Prijović:
«Campos played well today, as he has also done in the past. He is working hard, keeping focused and gives it everything he has got. Prijović is well and returned to action sooner than expected. He and the medical team ought to be congratulated. He suffered a serious injury and is back with us 2-3 weeks sooner. He is ready, he is fine and there are no worries«.
On the opportunities created by Platanias:
«I don’t recall Platanias being very active in attack. We created more opportunities to score. Today, we applied a tactical system that very few teams use in Greece. Platanias are a fine team, fighting for a top-5 finish in the last two seasons. They have a good coach, a plan to follow and work well. It’s not easy to win here«.
On the defeat suffered by Panathinaikos in Leoforos:
«Things didn’t go as planned in that game. We lost 2-0, had some chances to score, but Panathinaikos outplayed us. We didn’t play our game, we didn’t get the initiative and our passing left much to be desired. It was just one match. It’s over now. We believe we can turn the tie around and we are working on that«.
On Charisis:
«Out of 22 players, I have 16 here with me. I always make an effort to pick the best for every match, I have been doing so since the beginning«.
