Panagiotis Glykos is Players’ Player of the Year

Getting acknowledged by the fans was the first “medal”. But not the only one Panagiotis Glykos won. He earned his team-mates’ appreciation as well and was voted Players’ Player of the Year.

The Greek international goalkeeper completed the most mature season of his career with yet another special accolade. The Players’ Player of the Year poll was held for a second consecutive year and PAOK players voted the best of the season. Each one had the right to vote for three team-mates (3 points for top place, 2 for second place and 1 for third place).

The vote was held one week before the season finale and it was tight. José Ángel Crespo, who came to strengthen PAOK’s defensive line, got 27 points. Léo Matos, a defender as well, who made himself felt considerably in attack, won third place with 29 points.

The artist Diego Biseswar got 30 points and second place. The man who provided security to the outfield players, Panagiotis Glykos, got a total of 31 points and prevailed in the poll.

Both the poll and the award ceremony were held in the dressing room. PAOK New Media Director Panagiotis Aroniadis announced the verdict to the players and Vladan Ivić presented Glykos with his trophy before kick-off of the season’s last encounter. PAOK TV attended the event and recorded everything.
