Physical condition and work on defence

Monday was the toughest day of PAOK players this week, as they prepare for their Thursday game against FC Olimpik Donetsk. The menu consisted of a double session as Aleksandar Stanojević increased intensity.

In the morning, it was all about physical condition. Sprints, power endurance and drills for quick transition game with lots of running.

The evening session had more football. After warm-up and some games in reduced space, the players split into two groups. The defenders worked on defensive function and the attacking players practiced their finishing. Afterwards they engaged in a 10×10 training match mainly focusing on their defensive tactics.

There are only three players in the absentees’ list: Giannis Mystakidis, Panagiotis Glykos and Željko Brkić, who is following a special recovery program.
