«We had only a couple of days to prepare. We want to have a mentally strong team, as back-to-back games don’t allow us to train as much as we would like to. We need to adjust quickly to the requirements of each game and gradually improve our team. We definitely need more time for my players to perform the way I want them to. We have quality players, smart guys who can quickly evaluate situations and that will help us to improve as fast as possible«.
On his debut at PAOK:
«It was a great match, in a wonderful atmosphere and with the desired result. We overcame all obstacles we encountered. We started well, conceded a goal out of nothing and that affected us morally. But we had the inner strength for the comeback. In the second half we found the necessary balance and scored twice in the last stretch of the match. This 3-1 result will boost us ahead of the second leg«.
On the encounter against Levadiakos:
«League opening matches are always tough, as teams start fresh and are enthusiastic for the new season. It’s important for us to display will and determination and we will fight to win. We also need to balance things between Thursday’s match and the one in Livadia and also pick the right players for the line-up. Proper recuperation is of the essence, as well as using all the players at our disposal«.
