Forging ahead with decisiveness and dynamism

The first big question for PAOK was how to produce a response. And the answer was emphatic. Now the challenge is to continue with the same energy, urgency, intensity and passion in the matches ahead, starting with Sunday’s (09.02, 18:00) clash with OFI.

Against Panathinaikos the Dikefalos tou Vorra showed its true quality and character on the pitch, winning the game with greater ease than the scoreline suggested. The match against OFI is expected to offer an equally difficult challenge, since from the start of the season, the Cretan team have proven to be one of the best teams to watch as well as demonstrating the kind of quality that has them in a position to be a contender in the Play Offs.

Preparations for the match got underway at Mea Mesimvria on Thursday and the focus was on two key areas: trying to keep those players who took part in the match against Panathinaikos fresh, and ensuring the rest of the group are ready to come in so that the coach has more options.

Those who played against Panathinaikos remained in the gym and swimming pool for recuperation, while the rest took part in a dynamic program which included fitness exercises, rondo, tactical drills and a friendly match at the end.

Douglas Augusto missed training due to a virus, while Leo Jaba continued his individual recovery program. Jose Angel Crespo, in agreement with the club’s medical staff, will travel to Spain for the first part of his rehabilitation therapy after his operation on his right thigh injury.

On Friday (07.02) PAOK will train at 15:30 at Nea Mesimvria.
