Douglas Augusto’s masterpiece
In February, he scored his first two goals in a PAOK shirt and both were wonderful strikes. Not only that, but one of which also earned him the Regency Casino Best Goal of February.
PAOK got their noses in front at the AEL FC Arena thank to Dimitris Limnios’ opening goal, but they were looking for a second before half-time to try and kill off the game
This was the moment Douglas Augusto stepped up to deliver. And he did so in some style. The Brazilian midfielder from Abel Ferreira’s side picked up possession quite a long way out and looked goalwards. Without hesitating, he struck a thunderous long-range drive into the back of the net to make it 2-0 to the visitors.
And in the voting for the Regency Casino Best Goal of February via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App there was only going to be one winner. Douglas’ exceptional strike in Larissa garnered a huge 77,57% of the votes to claim the individual award.
In second place was Douglas once again with his goal against OFI, and the podium was completed by Fernando Varela for his brilliant header against Panathinaikos.
