Training and a medical update on Douglas

Although it seems strange, we are into the final stretch ahead of the Super League restart. On Sunday (07.06) PAOK faces its first match of the Play Offs and everyone is preparing to return to ‘fight mode’ since the opening match of the post season is a derby clash.

03.06.2020

Abel Ferreira and his players continue to work hard in order to be in tip top shape following the long, forced break due to the lockdown measures. On Wednesday (03.06) the training program involved work on fitness, passing, finishing and games on a half-pitch.

The Portuguese technician does not have Douglas Augusto at his disposal due to the player’s knee injury. The Brazilian midfielder’a injury was re-evaluated by the PAOK medical team, and it was decided to proceed with a more conservative treatment approach on his cruiciate ligament since there is no instability upon movement of the knee.

During the first month of the player’s planned recovery, Douglas will be examined each week to record the course of the recovery and his body’s response to treatment, after which the medical team will draw up a plan for the second phase of recovery.

On Thursday (04.06) PAOK will train at 09:30 at the club’s Nea Mesimvria training HQ.
