Michailidis at the double in July
Giannis Michailidis’ first senior goal in a PAOK shirt came out on top in the vote for the Regency Casino Best Goal of July.
After picking up July’s 11888 MVP award, Michailidis bagged himself another award for the month after coming out on top for the best goal in the poll ran via paokfc.gr and the PAOK FC Official App.
In the match against OFI, PAOK won a free-kick in a dangerous position on the edge of the penalty area, and the young defender stood over the ball alongside Mauricio. The Playmaker, even though he is the more experienced player, gave his younger teammate the opportunity to take the set-piece and Michailidis vindicated the Brazilian’s gesture in style with a stunning, curling effort which earned a 2-2 draw.
And in the poll for July’s Regency Casino Best Goal, Michailidis received 60,93% of the vote to win the individual award.
In second place was Enea Mihaj’s match-winning header in the derby against Olympiacos, while Diego Biseswar was third with his neat finish against OFI in Heraklion.
