PAOK’s new medical team
The new season is ringing in the changes for PAOK, and one of those changes is the personnel on the Dikefalos tou Vorra’s medical team.
Periklis Papadopoulos, the professor at the 2nd University Orthopedic Clinic of the «G. Gennimatas» hospital, and associate professors Ioannis Gigis and Konstantinos Ditsios, will now head up the team’s medical staff.
Giannis Rallis and his collaborator Theocharis Kyriakidis will be responsible for the operations side of the club’s medical department.
The Who is who of the new medical staff
Pericles Papadopoulos
Professor Periklis Papadopoulos is the Director of the 2nd Orthopedic Clinic at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki, or «G. Gennimatas». He graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s medical school, taking the specialty of Orthopedic Surgeon. In 2000 he completed his doctorate since 2018 he has been the director of the Orthopedic Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki. He has produced a wealth of publications, research projects, and books.
Ioannis Gigis
Associate Professor Ioannis Gigis also graduated from the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki’s medical school, specializing in Orthopedics, while doing his doctoral dissertation on the changes of the synovial membrane of the knee in patients suffering from degenerative osteoarthritis. He has been at the 2nd Orthopedic Clinic at the General Hospital of Thessaloniki from since December 2016, while at the same time he has a strong active surgical record.
Konstantinos Ditsios
Another graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki, Konstantinos Ditsios is another associate professor of Orthopedics there. He did his postgraduate studies at Washington University at Ano Akro, actively participates in all of the the clinic’s clinical and scientific activities, while he was also part of the medical team on the Organizing Committee of Athens 2004 Olympic Games. He also has produced several books as well as scientific work.
An old acquaintance returns to the Dikefalos tou Vorras. Rallis, who was a team doctor from 2008 to 2014, is another graduate of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki with a specialization in Orthopedic Surgery. He has specialized in Arthroscopic Surgery at the Orthopedic Clinic of St. Anne’s Hospital in Herne, Germany, while since 2008 he has been working privately, and is also a Research Associate at the 2nd Orthopedic Clinic of the Aristotle University of Thessaloniki.
