Attention turns to Aris
The goal of qualifying for the Greek Cup semi-finals has been achieved. With the draw away at Lamia, the Double-headed Eagle booked a place in the last four, and now the team’s focus now turns to the Super League Interwetten.
Against Lamia the coaching team had the opportunity to give some fringe players extended playing time, since they will be needed in the tough weeks to come. From here on in, PAOK’s focus will be solely on the league.
The Double-headed Eagle have two challenging matches coming up against Aris and Panathinaikos, and the club is aiming to return to winning ways after the defeat to Asteras in Tripoli so that they can gather as many points as possible ahead of the post season. Work started in earnest on the preparations for the local Thessaloniki derby on Thursday (04.03) afternoon in Nea Mesimvria.
Those players who started the match against Lamia followed a recovery and recuperation training program in the gym and swimming pool. The rest of the group went out onto the practice pitches for a high-intensity training session that included possession games, work on tactics, and exercises in limited spaces.
Douglas Augusto trained individually as he is still feeling some discomfort in his knee, while Enea Mihaj also continued his injury recovery rehab program.
On Friday (05.03) PAOK will train again at 11:00 in Νέα Μεσημβρία.
