The only way is work

The match against Aris was one of those which leave a mark. Both in terms of competitively and psychologically. PAOK missed the chance to move into second place in the table, and with it their collective calmness. The only way to rectify things on both fronts is to produce the required character and quality in training and out of the pitch in their next game.

Last Sunday, PAOK allowed Aris the time, spice, and right to cause them trouble. The comeback showed that the mental reserves are there and must be combined with results in order for the team to achieve the goals it has left to aim for. After all, the season has a long way to go and everything will be decided in the Play Offs and the Greek Cup matches.

Monday (08.03) functioned as the necessary deep breath and mental recovery that the team needed as a whole before everyone returned to work for the last game of the regular season of the Super League Interwetten against Panathinaikos at the Apostolos Nikolaidis Stadium.

Tuesday’s training session was mainly dedicated to tactics. The session started with rondo and running exercises. Then, the emphasis was next placed on the build-up and the team’s passing game through various exercises, while in the finale there was a friendly match played in limited spaces.

Christos Tzolis trained individually as a precaution so that he can gradually return to full training after getting over the virus that kept him out at the weekend., while Andre Vieirinha had a scheduled wind-down session.

Finally, Enea Mihaj continued his rehabilitation program with work out on the practice pitches and in the gym.

On Wednesday (10.03) PAOK will train at 11:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
