While everyone else were setting up their Greek nationakl flags on their balconies to celebrate the 200th annoversary of the Greek Revoliution of 1821 and getting reading to eat a serving of cod with garlic sauce, the PAOK players and coaching team met on the training pitch.

Because, although the win in the Play Offs opener is a step in the right direction, there are nine more matches to go for PAOK to close the season in the best possible way. For that to happen, the team must produce improved performances in the rest of the games.

Thursday’s training session was devoted to some fitness conditioning work, via running exercises and some obstracle course work. The rest of the program saw the players execute a series of drills focused on their passing game with some specific tactical instructions, as well as a 7 Vs 7 game to finish off.

Apart from the the 10 players absent on international duty, Adelino Vieirinha remained in the gym and trained individually, while Shinji Kagawa also worked out alone on the practice pitches. Nika Ninua trained with the main group, while Enea Mihaj continued his long-term rehab training program.

On Friday (26.03), PAOK will train at 11:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
