The win over Olympiacos was one the that the team needed for more than one reason. From the purely essential one of getting three much-needed points, but also to act as a confidence booster ahead iof the run in to the end of the season.

The match against Olympiacos, however, is already in the past. The recent past has shown that the big question for PAOK is to get some consistency in their results. Only in this way can the team get a run of positive results going. This is especially important since PAOK is battling for second place with the next opponents, Aris.

After Sunday’s (18.04) win, the players and coaching staff gathered in Nea Mesimvria to kick off the preparations for the next game. Training was based on two fronts, recovery programs for those who took part in the match with Olympiacos, and some more intense work for the rest of the squad.

And so one group remained in the grym ans swimming pool for recovery training, while the other group went out onto the practice pitches for a high-intensity training session in heavy rainfall. The program included some runing exercises, rondo, work on the team’s passing game, and some games in limited spaces with a high tempo.

Shinji Kagawa trained individually on the pracitce pitches, Nika Ninua took part in some of the session with the rest of the group before withdrawing as planned to do some work individually. Enea Mihaj continued his long-term injury recovery program, while Adrian Pereira did some exercises in the swimming pool.

On Tuesday (20.04), PAOK will train again at 11:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
