Ingason the indomitable
Ingi Ingason’s goal against Aris at the Toumba Stadium is March’s Energoprojekt Play of the Month.
Aris built up a two-goal lead at the Toumba. PAOK were staring down the barrel of their first home defeat of the season. Until the 86th minute that is.
It was then when Ingi Ingason stepped up to take it upon himself to make sure that his team did not end the match empty-handed.
The Iceman surged forward, pulling his team-mates with him and he managed to inspire the team to secure a draw by the final whistle.
Initially he found the back of the net with an excellent finish inside the penalty area, and then he won a penalty, which Vieirinha dispatched to make the final score 2-2 on the night.
In the poll for the Energoprojekt Play of the Month of March, it was Ingason who received 65,44% of the vote to win the individual award and beat Karol Swiderski’s assist into second place, as well as Michael Krmencik’s brilliant dribble and goal, which ended up in third spot.
