Recovery and fitness training

The plethora of consecutive games are a situation that the club will face many times during the season. The first batch of such fixtures has already started and PAOK now leaves the match in Gibraltar behind them to turn their attention to the battle of Tripoli against Asteras.

There was only one aim from the premiere of the UEFA Europa Conference League group stage, and it was to get the three points. Job done. The next question is victory in the domestic championship in what is a traditionally difficult ground for PAOK against a strong opponent.

The preparation of the team for the game at the Theodoros Kolokotronis began in earnest on Friday afternoon (17.09) in Nea Mesimvria.

The first goal of the coaching staff is the rehabilitation and recovery of the players who got the most playing time against Lincoln. The other parallel goal is to activate the other players, so that they are ready to help the team when called upon.

And so, those who featured at the Victoria Stadium did a special wind-down program, while the rest of the group worked in the field of fitness, through ball exercises but also with ball movement and possession games.

The only personnel issue from the match in Gibraltar is Jose Angel Crespo, who felt some discomfort in his right thigh. The defender underwent treatment and is going to have an MRI scan in order to determine the extent of the injury.

Omar El Kaddouri did a fitness program in the gym and Ingi Ingason particiapted in the first part of the training before breaking off to do some individual work as part of his injury rehab plan.

On Saturday (18.09) PAOK will train at 10:30 in Nea Mesimvria and will then depart for Tripoli in the afternoon.
