Producing an almost flawless display against PAS Giannina, not giving the Epirus club so much as a look-in, PAOK completed a comprehensive victory over their Super League Interwetten rivals by transforming most of their goal attempts into goals. It was a victory important mostly for the team’s confidence after a difficult spell in the past month.

Having said that, it was a victory that does not change in the slightest PAOK’s mood to recover completely and attain the required psychological and competitive stability that will allow the club to manage the fixture schedule get the results they want.

The day after the victory in Zosimades, the squad were back in Nea Mesimvria to begin their preparations for another difficult match on Sunday (19.12) against Asteras Tripolis.

Those who were in the starting XI of the match against PAS executed a recovery and rehabilitation training program out on the practices pitches, the gym and in the swimming pool. The rest of the group worked with the coaching staff on tactics, with the emphasis placed on build-up play and ball movement through various games and exercises.

There was also some good news on the injury front. Andre Vieirinha took part in most of the training session with the main group, while Lucas Taylor, Omar El Kaddouri and Nelson Oliveira were the only players continuing to work individually and undergo treatment.

On Friday (17.12) PAOK will train at 17:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
