Progress in the cup and then… Christmas carols
A final match before the holidays is another ‘final’ of sorts. On Wednesday (22.12) PAOK host Larissa at the Toumba in the second leg of their Greek Cup Round of 16 tie looking to put right the indifferent first-leg performance and qualify for the quarter-finals before the break for the festive season.
The day after the victory over Asteras Tripolis saw the players and coaching staff regroup in Nea Mesimvria to make their plans for the game against Larissa. The players who were in the starting XI of the match against Asteras completed a rehabilitation and recovery training program on the practice pitches and in the gym.
The rest of the group started their workout with a warm-up and some possession games, followed by a special tactics session delivered by the coaching staff, while in the final part the players were divided into groups and worked separately on both defensive and attacking aspects.
Omar El Kaddouri and Lucas Taylor continued with their treatments and a light program in the gym. Nelson Oliveira has left for his homeland with special permission in order to have his injury checked over by the surgeon who operated on him, and to spend the holidays there.
PAOK will train again at 18:00 on Tuesday (21.12) at the Toumba Stadium.
