- The 0-0 draw in the first leg between the two teams is the second in the Greek Cup. The last time that scoreline appeared was on March 2, 2011 in the semi-finals of the competition. That 0-0 draw at the OAKA left the tie in the balance and in the second leg at the Toumba, finally AEK got the victory and the qualification with a goal by Dellas (48) – this was the last time AEK qualified at the expense of PAOK.
- PAOK has qualified in ten of the last twelve times it has faced AEK before the final. In total during this period they have played 23 games and PAOK has prevailed in 11, while there have been five draws and seven victories for AEK.
- In the history of the Greek Cup overall, the two teams have been drawn against each other 16 times, and PAOK have the better record, having qualified in ten of those ties, while the Athens club have progressed from six of them. - The last time they faced each other before the series of finals was in 2011-12 in a single knockout game in the «Round of 16» phase, with PAOK qualifying at the Toumba via a 2-0 (33′ Lino, 54′ Athanasiadis) win.
- ΑΕΚ’s last win over PAOK has the home side in a Greek Cup match was in 2002, when they won a quarter-final encounter 2-1 (36’ Tsartas, 61’ Maladenis – 49’ Frousos). In the second leg at the Toumba, PAOK suffered one of its heaviest defeats against ΑΕΚ with the finale scoreline 4-0 (28’ Tsartas, 39’ Lakis, 47’ Nikolaidis, 89’ Ivic), prompted by the sending off of Kopulakiotis in the 27th minute.
- PAOK are undefeated in their last nine matches against AEK, regardless of venue or competition. In fact, before this season’s goalless draw in the Greek Cup, PAOK had won five from five games in all competitions. AEK’s last victory was on July 1, 2020 in the Super League Play Offs. This dominance of the Kitrinomavri was the first after six matches without a win. That is, in the last 16 matches between them in the championship and the cup at home or away, AEK has one win, with PAOK counting nine wins, while there have also been seven draws.
