Focus switches to Play Offs
The day after the win over Gent saw PAOK’s players still wearing their smiles from the night before, but also showing the fatigue that comes with playing against such a tough opponent.
On Thursday Razvan Lucescu and his players took the first significant step towards the last eight of the Europa Conference League, but they know very well that nothing has been decided just yet, and that the qualification will be decided in the second leg. For now, however, Europe takes a back seat, because the next match – which is always the most important – is the opening game of the Super League Interwetten Play Offs.
PAOK begin their campaign with a home match against PAS Giannina at the Toumba, and are called upon to get off to a winning start. On Friday (11.03) morning, the Double-headed Eagle squad trained at the Open TV sports center in Nea Mesimvria, with the players who started against Gent undertaking a wind-down program.
The rest of the group worked on tactics, ball movement and fitness. Alexandros Paschalakis, who felt some discomfort in the groin area during the first half on Thursday, underwent treatment and he will undergo an MRI within the day.
