Lucescu: «We must achieve our goals»
Razvan Lucescu shared his thoughts and insights with Novasports ahead of the Matchday 10 Play Offs game against Panathinaikos. Read what the Romanian coach said via paokfc.gr.
On the the two remaining games which will close out a big season:
«It was a difficult and special year, there were good and bad moments, the fact that we played every three days in relation to our opponents, who had more time to rest and prepare, made our task even more difficult.»
On the fact that Panathinaikos stands in PAOK’s way to achieving two of the club’s main goals and if he would prefer things to be different:
«It does not make sense to talk about the fixture schedule in this way, all season we were ‘unlucky’ in terms of our course, especially after the cup match with Olympiacos where we lost half of our players. Now some players are reintegrated in the best possible condition.»
On whether he expects any more players to return:
«Almost all the players have returned and are with us, from here on it is a different situation regarding who is ready for the Play Offs match and the cup final. We try to manage them as best as possible so that they are all 100% ready and healthy.»
On whether he expects a full stadium in the last home game of the season so that the fans can help push the team in the final stretch:
«I do not know if the stadium will be full, but I know that our fans are by our side and will push us for the best, in a year in which we had both good and bad times. The expectations are high and we know that their support is with us and we must close out the season in the best way by conquering our goals.»
