Lucescu: «A tight match with a lot of intensity»
Razvan Lucescu shared his thought and insights with Novasports ahead of the Matchday 3 clash against Aris. Read what the Romanian coach said via paokfc.gr.
On whether he thinks that the Aris-PAOK derby has come too early in the season:
«This is the situation, this is the draw of the fixtures. I think the draw was made through a computer and so now that we have to play Aris, we will go and play. For Aris they are a team with quality players. I expect a tight match, both two teams have started their obligations in the league differently. We play good football, we both have lofty ambitions, so I expect a close match with a lot of intensity.»
On whether he is happy with the team’s development:
«It is too early to talk about the development of the team. We need a lot of time with training and games to get to where we want to be. But so far I am happy with what my players are doing and I am satisfied with the first two matches in the league. We are a team that needs to find our rhythm and that’s our goal.»
On whether he is happy that players from the academies like Koulierakis are coming through and playing in the first team:
«I don’t care about the names and whether they are from the academies or not. I don’t care whether they are young or not. I don’t want to get into that process. I don’t want to get into discussions like for example if the team uses kids from the academies and he doesn’t win it’s a problem, or if he doesn’t use the player again it’s a problem. But I’ll answer you about Koulierakis: If Koulierakis is in the first team it’s because he deserves it.»
