Work into the final stretch
The preparations for the game against Ionikos in Athens started on Monday afternoon (07.11), one week before the break for the World Cup.
PAOK have two matches ahead before the break for the World Cup and are aiming to win six more points. The first opponent is Ionikos, who are a side desperate for points, languising in the lower echelons of the standings.
Players and technical staff rolled up their sleeves and started their preparations. The players who were in the starting lineup against PAS Giannina followed a recovery and rehabilitation program out on the pitch, as well as inside in the gym and the swimming pool.
The rest of the group worked together with the coaches in the field of tactics, through drills and games, and they also did a practical application via a two-team fiendly.
Jasmin Kurtic has been feeling some discomfort in his knee for the past few days. The tests he underwent, however, came back clean. The Slovenian underwent some treatment and followed a conservative workout program. Andre Vieirinha also stayed in the gym, while Marios Tsaousis, Lefteris Lyratzis and Khaled Narei did some physiotherapy and exercises in the pool.
On Tuesday (08.11) PAOK will be back in for training at 10:30 in Nea Mesimvria.
