Winners and it off to… Europe for PAOK Under-19s
PAOK’s Under-19 side clinched a significant victory on Sunday, staging a 2-1 upset over Panathinaikos in Athens, just one game before the end of the season.
Tsiapakidis’s and Hagan’s team won 2-1 away, gaining a three-point lead over Panathinaikos, who are in second (with two wins, PAOK now have the upper hand in the event of a tie between the two) and have mathematically secured second place, which provides a place in the UEFA Youth League next season. There is one match left, the home game against Volos.
The home team took the lead in the 14th minute with a penalty and in the 39th minute Berdos equalized, after an assist from Hatsidis. Finally, in the 62nd minute, Balde scored the winner with a superb individual effort after collecting the ball from Scznauczner.
The Under-19 side’s technical director, Christos Karypidis , was also present in Koropi for this game, as was PAOK B coach Nikos Karageorgiou.
