Olympiacos took revenge for their last season’s defeat, in what has become a classic duel in Greek youth football. Their 2-0 victory however doesn’t reflect the fact that PAOK were the team in command and enjoyed more scoring opportunities. They were denied by the woodwork (Moutzouris’s shot) and by the referee, who disallowed Georgiadis’s effort.

Olympiacos took the lead against the run of play in the beginning of the second half, making the most of a defensive slip up, and sealed their victory in the last stretch of the match, when all PAOK players had moved forward for an equalizer.
