Recovery and recuperation

In any cup competition, the point is to qualify for the next round. Now, if you can also do it your way, with style and character, then kudos to you. And that’s exactly what PAOK did. With two wins against Panathinaikos without conceding a goal, the Dikefalos tou Vorra went through as the better team overall.

The seemingly endless run of matches without the squad being able to catch a breath comes to an end this Saturday (!!) against Larissa, who have their eyes on a place in the top six and the Play Offs. Preparations got underway in earnest at Nea Mesimvria on Thursday (13.02) morning.

Those who took part in the match against Panathinaikos at the ΟΑΚΑ stayed in the gym and the swimming pool, following a program of recovery and recuperation. Fernando Varela and Dimitris Pelkas were examined by the club’s medical team and their status is defined as improved. Both players will try to take part in the full training session on Friday (14.02).

The rest of the squad trained out on the practice pitches and performed the necessary warm-ups, and then took part in some possession games in limited spaces, finishing skills and also played a friendly match to finish things off.

Jose Crespo and Leo Jaba continued their individual training programs as they look to recovery from their respective injuries.

Friday’s (14.02) training session will take place at 12:00 and will be held at the Toumba, after which the players will depart for Larissa.
