Preparations for Croatia kick off
Thursday’s match now belongs to the past with the draw leaving the tie completely balanced. Everything will be decided in the second leg in Croatia.
And it is there where the goals of the PAOK squad lie. After a rest day on Friday (20.08), players and coaching staff returned to work and began their preparations for the away game at Rijeka.
Those players who were in the starting lineup in the first-leg match did a shorter and lighter workout on the training pitches before withdrawing to the gym and the swimming pool for recovery training. The rest of the group stayed out on the practice pitches to work on ball movement, following some drills in limited spaces before playing out a mini friendly match.
Rodrigo Soares began to receive treatment in order to overcome his injury problem that arose in the match against Rijeka. Ingi Ingason continued his individual rehabilitation program, while Nelson Oliveira underwent surgery to repair his problem with his cruciate knee ligament, and has already begun the recovery process.
On Sunday (22.08) PAOK will train at 09:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
