Training match before Easter break
In the last session before the Easter break, Vladan Ivić ordered a training match. The main aim is to keep the players of PAOK in high gear, so that they will be perfectly ready when play-offs kick off on 11 May.
PAOK players split into two groups, Blacks and Greens, and played two 30-minute halves. The Blacks consisted of: Glykos, Κitsiou, Αntonis, Vítor, Skondras, Κace, Τziolis, Golasa, Μystakidis (Papadopoulos), Athanasiadis, Rodrigues (Rangelov).
Greens: Melissas, Sabo, Chatziisaias, Μalezas, Κorovesis, Charisis, Cimirot, Pelkas , Jairo, Μak, Κushta.
The Blacks prevailed 3-2. The Greens took the lead with Jairo lobbing Glykos from outside the box. Before the interval, Vítor made it 1-1 with a neat finish following a defense-splitting assist by Antonis.
In the second half, defences were less tight and the Blacks found the space to launch their counterattacks and score twice. Papadopoulos beat the offside trap, entered the box and passed the ball to Klaus to score. Then Kace took over the creative role and Golasa provided a neat finish for the third goal of the Blacks.
The Greens reduced distances with a powerful drive by Jairo from outside the box. They came close to an equalizer, but Glykos saved Mak’s shot.
Garry Rodrigues was substituted off out of precaution, because he complained of a sore hamstring. Giorgos Tzavellas and Μarkos Vellidis sat out due to decompression, while Μarin Leovac and Dimitar Berbatov continued their recovery programs with ball drills.
PAOK players will enjoy a two-day break on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday and will return to trainings on Monday at 18:00 in Nea Mesimvria.
