The squad for the Play Offs premiere
For the top six teams in the Super League Interwetten, the regular season highlighted both their strengths and revealed their weaknesses. Now, in the Play Offs, endurance, character, and spirit come into the equation for the title of champions and all of the European tickets – including for the new UEFA Conference League.
PAOK head into the Play Offs aiming to recover from a disappointing end of the season and get the results that will lead the team to the highest possible finish in the final standings. Their first opponents are AEK, the team which they will also face in the Greek Cup semi-finals.
The last training session took place at the Toumba Stadium and was chiefly about energizing the players. The squad initially did some running exercises, some drills to help reaction speeds and reflexes, and then there was a three-team tournament. In the last part of the session, the coaching staff worked with the players on some final tactical details, while there was also some emphasis placed on thethe static phases.
Andre Vierinia took part in most of the session and will be available for the match against AEK, although his status will be re-evaluated up to the last minute.
Shinji Kagawa and Nika Ninua trained individually in Nea Mesimvria and neither are available for the upcoming game, as well as Enea Mihaj, who continued his long-term rehab program.
