PAOK B lose it in the details [with pictures]

PAOK B produced a typically battling and determined performance in Volos against Niki Volou, but unfortunately slipped to a 2-1 defeat in another match which they had to chase the game due to falling behind. The Double-headed Eagle second string did equalize at one point but then eventually succumbed to a set piece. The result leaves PAOK B stuck on 35 points and the team are now preparing for Sunday’s match with Olympiakos Volou.

The hosts were the better side in the early stages, threatening twice after 17 and 23 minutes. In the latter case, Balomenos saved well. The best opportunity, however, fell to PAOK B when in the 35th minute, Koulouris hit the crossbar with a cross-shot. What Koulouris could not do, Vassiliou achieved for the hosts in the 43rd minute, making it 1-0 for Niki Volou.

The picture of the second half was different, with PAOK clearly more threatening. In fact, a few minutes after coming off the bench in the 69th minute, and making his first appearance of the season, Bradonic controlled Grosdis‘ through ball and fired in a shot, equalizing for the Double-headed Eagle. Two other changes phases followed, in the 74th minute through Koutsias and on 81 minutes with Panidis. The ball ended up in the net on the second chance, but the referee chalked it off due to an offside. Unfortunately, just two minutes later, Niki Volou found a way through and grabbed a second goal, with Miranda’s header winning it for the home side.

Team lineups:

Niki Volos: Peristeridis, Kassos, Athanassiou, Gromitsaris, Andreou, Panos, Tsoukalas, Vassilios (72′ Vlachomitros), Miranda, Garcia (46′ Aliatidis), Kouskounas (87′ Kyritsis).
