Friendly win over Panetolikos

PAOK beat Panaitolikos 4-0 in a training friendly in Nea Mesimvria on Friday in what was Razvan Lucescu’s side’s last dress rehearsal ahead of the games against Levski Sofias in the UEFA Europa Conference League qualifiers.

The coaching staff had the opportunity to do some final tests before the start of official competitive duties, and to give almost all of the squad some playing time. All of the players will be back on the training pitches on on Saturday morning for training.

PAOK started strongly, made the early running and showed intensity, which allowed them to take control of the ball and fasion three goals within the last 15 minutes of the first half.

Koutsias and Dantas pressed high up the pitch in the 30th minute, and the ball reached Quagliata, and he found Koutsias in the area, with the young Double-headed Eagle strike scoring clinically to make it 1-0.

In the 39th minute, Jasmin Kurtic made it 2-0 from a direct free-kick, before Koutsias scored his second and his team’s third of the game at the end of the first half with a header after a cross from Rafa Soares.

At the half-time break Lucescu changed eight of the 11 players, giving more time only to Ingason, Kargas and Koutsias. PAOK maintained the control of the match in the second half as well, with Schwab being the major protagonist.

The Austrian hit the post in the 76th minute with an impressive shot from outside the area, and in the 82nd minute he scored from the penalty spot to make it 4-0 from a penalty won by Lamprou.

Brandon Thomas made his unofficial debut in a PAOK jersey, while the injured El Kaddouri, Oliveira, Michailidis, Taylor were left out, as well as the not-yet-match-fit Biseswar, Murg and Andrija Zivkovic, the latter of which was still suffering from a virus.
