PAOK B overpower Apollon Larissa 6-1 [with pictures]

PAOK B began 2023 with plenty of … sunshine and goals. The Double-headed Eagle beat Apollon Larissa with ease in their Matchdeay 9 clash of the Betsson Super League 2 and retained top spot in theri group with 19 points from eight games.

Menacing and dominant, PAOK B got the scoring going in the 16th minute with Michailidis’ goal from a direct free-kick. Three minutes later, Tasiouras provided an assist from the right for Quagliata to score and make it 2-0. Then Gordeziani, after first being thwarted by the post, made sure in the 28th minute not to miss a second time with an amazing reverse shot from the edge of the penalty area. Unstoppable at that point, PAOK B then won a penalty thanks to Chatzistravos in the 34th minute, and he expertly converted the spot-kick for 4-0. In added time at the end of the half, Chatzistravos struck again, taking the assist from Tasiouras’ run, to score and make it 5-0.

The picture was similar in the second half with the Double-headed Eagle making five changes and continuing – albeit at a lower tempo – to threaten the visitors’ goal constantly. The visitors did manage to reduced the lead in the 52nd minute, but in the 69th minute, PAOK B scored a sixth goal with Bradonijc the man on target, after benefitting from Tsopouroglou’s pass. PAOK B now turn their attention to prepare for the away game in Thesprotos.
